Grab your running shoes and register for the Sexual Assault Support Services (SASS) 7th Annual 5K to Keep Kids SAFE to be run on Sunday, June 8th at 9 a.m., start and finish line are at Martin’s Point Health Care at Pease International Tradeport.
SASS teaches over ten thousand school children in Rockingham and Strafford about personal body safety, healthy relationships and media literacy through their Safe Kids Strong Teens education programs. The annual 5K To Keep Kids Safe supports these valuable programs. SASS has been serving the Seacoast community for 35 years providing services to survivors and others impacted by sexual violence.
A family friendly event for all levels of runners and walkers; the first 150 registrants will receive a free t-shirt from the SASS official apparel sponsor, Get it Going.
Online registration is currently open with an early bird price of $25 for adults at www.sassnh.org. Same day registration opens at 7:30 a.m. and costs $30 for adults, $10 for youth ages 8-17 and free for kids 11 and younger at the Kids Fun Run.
At the Kids Corner, children can enjoy coloring their very own t-shirt to take home along with face painting and the Kids Fun Run at 10:30 a.m.
Refreshments for runners and walkers will be provided thanks to generous donations from The Beach Pea Baking Co., The Works Café and Bakery, Starbuck, Trader Joe’s and many more. This event is also sponsored in part by the Greater Portsmouth Chamber of Commerce and the Portsmouth Regional Hospital.
