Celebrate the kick off to the holiday season downtown Rochester! Join the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce as they present the 3rd annual Holiday Tree Lighting ceremony, underwritten by Frisbie Memorial Hospital. Watch as Mayor Thomas "T.J." Jean lights the magical downtown tree for the first time for the 2013 holiday season. Those who attend will also enjoy many other festivities throughout the evening, including caroling by the Frisbie Memorial Hospital Carolers; dance performances by Studio 109 Dance, Voice & Drama; a reading of the story "The Night Before Christmas," read by Mayor Jean; cookies and hot chocolate provided by Citizens Bank and of course, a very special visit from Santa! Santa will visit with children from 5:30-6:30pm at Federal Savings Bank. Please be sure to remember your camera for photos! The Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce is also offering community members to honor a loved one serving overseas this holiday season by placing an ornament on the downtown tree. Ornaments with a service man or woman's name may be brought to the tree lighting event and hung on the downtown holiday tree. Ornaments will be displayed throughout the holiday season. Those who are unable to attend this event may still participate by bringing an ornament at anytime to the Chamber office. Ornaments will be hung on the Chamber's holiday tree, which is displayed in the front window of the Chamber building. For more information on the Holiday Tree Lighting, please contact the Chamber office at 603-332-5080 or email events@rochesternh.org. |
