Riverstones, Rails and Renaissance: A Rochester Retrospective
Granite State Choral Society commissioned new music for 40th Anniversary Dinner/Concert Premiere Gala at Governor's Inn, Rochester NH
Grammy nominated composer, Nicholas White, composes "Rochester", an original work celebrating Rochester City History
The Granite State Choral Society 40th Anniversary Committee is pleased to announce the selection of Concord, NH based composer Nicholas White, to create a five-movement musical piece that will highlight historic persons, events, and landmarks of Rochester – even as it presents the steady growth and renewal the city is known for, using original text written specifically for the work. The new composition will be premiered during the Choral Society’s Ruby Anniversary Year celebration at a gala fundraising dinner concert on March 28th of 2015 with Mr. White in attendance. As only the second known registered choral society based in Rochester over the last 100 years, GSCS decided to honor the city’s history in song to celebrate their 40 years of choral performances
Seating is limited and advance reservations required for this formal dinner concert with live auction and other surprises. Tickets are available at BrownPaperTickets.com http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/1016869
