2027 Citizen Of The Year Nomination Form

The Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce is pleased to begin accepting nominations for the 2027 Annual Awards Celebration. These life-changing nominations show often missed recognition to incredible businesses, non-profits, educators, and citizens in the Greater Rochester Area. The Citizen of the Year Award recognizes an individual who exemplifies outstanding leadership and civic engagement, and who has made meaningful contributions to the improvement and vitality of the Greater Rochester area. The 2027 Deadline for this award is Friday, March 12th, 2027.

Nominees must be submitted by others. To be eligible, the individual must: Be an adult resident of Rochester or Northern Strafford County, with community involvement primarily within the same area; Demonstrate meaningful contributions that benefit the community as a whole; Show excellence in civic engagement, which may include participation in civic organizations, faith-based groups, schools (e.g., PTA), or other community initiatives; Have activities that extend beyond normal job responsibilities, though service performed within one’s professional role may also be considered; Have contributions that are recent enough to hold current community significance, even if they span multiple years. Please note: Previous award recipients are not eligible. Nominees are not required to be Chamber members or part of the business community—individuals from all walks of life are encouraged to be nominated.

Please complete the front and back of this form and submit it as the cover page of your nomination. Include a separate attachment outlining their distinguished accomplishments and the reasons for your nomination. Supporting documentation can also be included and should highlight: Impact and contributions to the community; Community involvement and engagement; Awards, honors, or recognitions received; and Letters of recommendation. Please note: Nominations lacking sufficient detail or supporting documentation may not be considered. If a nominee is not selected this year, their nomination will automatically remain under consideration for the following two years. All nominations are kept confidential.
