SUMMARY:Huck Finn
DESCRIPTION:Huck Finn's High Tailin' Adventures All your favorite Mark Twain characters are here in this skillful adaptation of the classic American tale. Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer are up to their usual antics skipping church to go fishing\, starting a band of robbers with their comrades\, and frustrating locals with their shenanigans. But then\, Huck's no-good Pap returns to stir up trouble and takes Huck back to live with him. Driven to live life on his terms\, Huck stages his own murder and escapes to where not even Widow Douglas and Miss Watson can "civilize" him. Huck meets up with Jim\, a runaway slave\, and the two embark down the mighty Mississippi on a joint voyage to freedom. Their journey is filled with non-stop action - from getting wrapped up in a plot with two con artists trying to steal a family's inheritance to Jim's capture by none other than Tom Sawyer's uncle. Tom and Huck reunite to attempt Jim's rescue\, reveling in the ambitious adventure. Audiences of all ages will relish this celebration of friendship and freedom! This Homeschool Theatre Guild production\, directed by Margaret Murray\, features over 30 homeschoolers from the seacoast region of New Hampshire. The Guild continues its tradition of bringing gems of literature to the stage\, delighting its audiences and celebrating the classics. Homeschool Theatre Guild is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. 2017 Recipient of a Rochester Arts & Culture Commission award for Excellence in the Arts.
