DESCRIPTION:Celebrate the kick off to the holiday season downtown Rochester!\n\nJoin the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce as they present the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony.\n\n\n\nWatch as the magical downtown tree is lit for the first time for the 2017 holiday season. Those who attend will also enjoy many other festivities throughout the evening.\n\n\n\nActivities The Evening Include:\n\nA reading of The Night Before Christmas by Mayor Caroline McCarley\;\n\nCookie decorating with the Rochester Child Care Center at the Chamber of Commerce\;\n\nCookies and hot chocolate at Citizens Bank\;\n\nCaroling by the Frisbie Carolers\;\n\nDance performances by Studio 109 Dance\, Voice & Drama\;\n\nNativity Scene Photo Booth by The Commons Church\; and\n\nA special visit from Santa at Federal Savings Bank\n\nIn conjunction with the Tree Lighting\, there will be a collection taking place to\n\nbenefit children at the Homeless Center for Strafford County\, sponsored by Service Credit Union.\n\nItems to be donated are:\n\nNew books (for ages 8-17)\n\nNew Puzzles (for ages 12+)\n\nPaper Towels\n\nToilet Paper\n\nThese items can be dropped off at the Holiday Tree Lighting event or items can be brought to Service Credit Union branches in Rochester located at 90 South Main Street and 116 Farmington Road (Inside Walmart) or the Chamber of Commerce office through December 16\, 2017.\n\nFor more information on the Holiday Tree Lighting\, please contact the Chamber office at 603-332-5080 or email events@rochesternh.org.
