Northeast Credit Union had more than 75 people gathered at their Portsmouth office to remember Peter Kavalauskas and to honor his leadership as President & CEO. Peter’s family gathered with NECU’s staff members to include NECU’s new president/CEO Timothy J. Collia to remember Peter with the naming of a Community Room in his honor, and to continue his legacy of granting wishes to New Hampshire children with life-threatening medical conditions.

“Today is a special day for all of us here at Northeast Credit Union,” said Timothy J. Collia, NECU President & CEO. “In addition to recognizing Peter for his dedication and leadership to Northeast Credit Union we are reminded of Peter’s incredibly huge heart he had for Make-A-Wish New Hampshire. Each year, Peter would spend some time with the children who were granted a wish through the assistance of Northeast Credit Union. They would come in and show Peter pictures of their granted wish and share their stories. Northeast Credit Union is honored to continue Peter’s legacy of giving to Make a Wish New Hampshire.”

“From all of us at Make-Wish, we would like to thank Northeast Credit Union for their continued support,” said Julie Baron, Make-A-Wish CEO. “Northeast Credit Union’s generous donation of $5,000 will help grant wishes to NH children.  A wish come true helps children feel strong, more energetic, more willing and able to battle their illness. We are thankful for Peter and Northeast Credit Union’s longtime support of Make-A-Wish New Hampshire. Peter loved to engage with the children and hear about their wishes granted, and we know the children very much appreciated their conversations with him too.”
