\nCommunity Action Partnership of Strafford County (CAPSC) will host its first-ever fundraising concert at the end of the month. The concert\, which is being headlined by a seven-piece yacht-rock boyband\, &ldquo\;Yachtley Crew&rdquo\;\, will commence at 7:30 p.m. on Friday\, October 24\, at The Historic Theatre at The Music Hall in Portsmouth.
Taking the nation by storm since 2017\, the &ldquo\;Yachtley Crew&rdquo\; propelled further into stardom when the band signed onto Earache Records in 2024\, a U.K. based record label. Previously\, the band had signed onto Mailboat Records\, owned by Jimmy Buffett\, in 2022.
\n\nPerforming songs such as &ldquo\;Africa&rdquo\; by ToTo\, &ldquo\;You Make My Dreams&rdquo\; by Daryl Hall &\; John Oates\, &ldquo\;Crazy Train&rdquo\; by Ozzy Osbourne\, &ldquo\;Reelin&rsquo\; In The Years&rdquo\; by Steely Dan and more\, the &ldquo\;Yachtley Crew&rdquo\; show will rock out for a cause in Portsmouth.
\n\nAll proceeds from the event will benefit the housing programs at CAPSC- including homeless services\, housing support\, domestic violence housing support\, our housing opportunity center\, our family shelter &ldquo\;Home for Now&rdquo\; and more. Together\, these programs serve more than 700 individuals in Strafford County\, each year.
\n\n&ldquo\;Housing and homelessness in Strafford County &mdash\; and across the state of New Hampshire &mdash\; reflect the health\, strength\, and compassion of our communities. Every person deserves the dignity of a safe\, stable home\,&rdquo\; Lauren Berman-Lefebvre\, Community Services Director at CAPSC said\, &ldquo\;Addressing this crisis isn&rsquo\;t just a policy priority &mdash\; it&rsquo\;s a moral imperative that speaks to who we are as a state and what we value.&rdquo\;
\n\nBy providing the residents of Strafford County with an advanced range of resources and services aimed at establishing financial and physical well-being\, CAPSC supports its mission to reduce barriers to help clients improve their economic stability and well-being and its vision to eliminate poverty.
\n\n&ldquo\;The work that we do within the homeless prevention and housing services program is personal to me\,&rdquo\; Berman-Lefebvre continued. &ldquo\;I&rsquo\;ve seen firsthand how unstable housing can affect every part of a person&rsquo\;s life &mdash\; from their health to their hope. I care deeply because these are our neighbors\, our families\, our communities. Everyone deserves a safe place to call home\, and I&rsquo\;m committed to being part of the solution.&rdquo\;
\n\nContinuing in this light\, Berman-Lefebvre highlighted the importance of secure housing: &ldquo\;A home is more than walls and a roof &mdash\; it&rsquo\;s safety\, dignity\, and a place to belong. No one should be denied that. Homelessness is not a personal failure\; it&rsquo\;s a collective one. Until everyone has a place to call home\, we all have work to do\,&rdquo\; she concluded.
